Tell us about what gets you out of bed every morning. What is the most interesting thing about working at Wolt and about the work you do?
What gets me out of bed in the morning is the aspiration not to maintain and do what I did around this time last year but rather continue the everlasting ride to move Wolt, myself and my team forward. This is done by building on top of the current business in order to make Wolt a more profitable product for the merchant that needs to profit, a more efficient product for the restaurant staff and courier partners whose work are affected by our decisions, a more seamless experience for the end consumers and to make me a better leader that can help my team fulfil their potential.

What keeps you productive and motivated throughout the day? 🤓
The transparency that is a cornerstone in Wolt’s culture. Myself and my team have access to loads of information and more often than not it’s pushed towards us. It helps me to understand the business as a whole and see how the work and decisions I make affect my co-workers, courier parters, restaurant partners and end consumers in a positive way.

‘Willingness to learn’ is a Wolt value – What did you learn recently that significantly impacted your work?
Leading leaders is something I have learned but not mastered. I think it’s not possible and important not to involve myself in every detail of our business but rather act as a sparring partner for my leaders when I’m asked or identify a need for sparring. It gives the team the best opportunities to try on their own, fail and learn, ultimately becoming the experts in their field and mastering it to a much greater extend than myself.

During your time at Wolt, what is something that you are most proud of?
During the Covid-19 lockdowns we decided to cut our profits in an attempt to support a restaurant industry that had become overly dependant on services such as Wolt’s. In return for their partnership with Wolt we transferred an amount in the excess of 25,000,000 kr to help restaurants keep afloat without strings attached just because it was the right thing to do. The gesture makes me extremely proud of the company I represent.

Why did you join Wolt and what makes you stay at Wolt?
Joining Wolt was pure chance, and how lucky I was to stumble across it! Having spent 2 year scratching sand out of my bum and drinking colourful drinks around the world I had no idea what to do next. I joined Wolt’s non-existent support team. It was a 3 months gig at 10 hours per week, and before I knew it four years had happened. Wolt has grown me, I have grown Wolt. For me this is a chance to learn how to build a small company, how to scale a company and how to build a big company, and doing it with some of the most talented people I have worked with. That’s unparalleled to any opportunity I have had in the past, and why I stay 💙

What advice would you give to someone who wants to join Wolt?
Try your hardest. This could be one of the best decisions you’re making in your worklife, but you’ll competing against very talented people and you’ll be evaluated by people who only want to hire the the most talented people in terms of competence and motivation. You can’t wing it!

Which Wolt country is on the top of your bucket list and why? 🌏
Easily Japan. Having never visited I can’t think of a country that packs a better combination of beautiful nature, complex culture, rich history and phenomenal foods for the punch! 🇯🇵

And finally, what is your ‘must try’ dish on Wolt?
N’duja from N&L Pizzeria. It’s a tiny food trailer in the outskirt of Islands Brygge that nobody pays attention to, but rumour has it that this is where owners of some of Copenhagen’s more famous pizza establishments comes to get their fix 🤤
